Well thats what all three of my readers may well be thinking, luckily I’m not, I’ve just been super busy at work, I thought I’d pop on now whilst I’m watching Chelsea thrash Liverpool and write a quick post, Im not a huge fan of posts like this though, so I’ll do an image post over the bank holiday, I really can’t wait to have a little break, I’ve been spending all my time working, going to the gym and sorting the wedding so Ive organised a few things over the weekend to catch up with people which I’m looking forward to.

I’ve still managed to do a fair bit whilst I’ve not been blogging, I’ve pretty much summed up my life in bullet point format (imagine me in front of you with a powerpoint presentation if you wish):

-Yo Sushi is great food and I’m ofishially (ha ha, excuse the pun) hooked
- I went to see the Rumble Strips in Sheffield, great band
- Marmaduke duke are ace
- My garden takes forever to sort out at the start of spring
- The weather in the Maldives in September isnt the best and has forced me to change my honeymoon plans
- My mate Rob played a great set at Digital Society in Leeds, great night
- Monkey Shoulder is the drink of Champions

Thats about it really (that I can remember), I’m off to see Dizzee Rascal and The Prodigy on Saturday, Happy Days!

I WILL post again soon and won’t leave it so long next time, Thats a pinky™ promise….

Happy Pancake Day!!

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Well it’s quite possibly the biggest event of the year and in my opinion should be made a national holiday, Pancake day!

Hope you have a happy pancake day and end up feeling ill like me from eating too many (it happens every year). If you need a simple pancake recipe read on, this is how I make mine anyway (disclaimer: if you use this recipe and it doesn’t work and it ruins your pancake day I will not be held responsible!!)

  • One cup of plain flour
  • One cup of milk
  • One egg
  • A bit of oil

Instructions

  1. sift the flour in to a bowl
  2. whack in the cup of milk (dont put the actual cup in the mixture, just the milk)
  3. crack in the egg (again its not advisable to eat the shell but feel free to put it in if you like that crunching sensation!)
  4. whisk it all together until you have a smooth mix
  5. get the pan going with a little oil in to stop the pancake sticking (Tefal pans rule)
  6. pour in some mixture until it fills the pan (I prefer to use a little pan and make them thick!)
  7. My favourite topping is to chuck some chopped bannana in the mix in the pan and let the pancake cook around it, then whack some honey on when cooked- tastes great!

Enjoy!

Not much to report this week Im afraid, just been super buy with work, I’ll be popping some of the work on here shortly when it’s all live and ready for public consumption.

I’ve been to see a couple of flicks in the last week, firstly Notorious which I really enjoyed for the music and as an insight in to the east side / west side division, I think the film was a bit sugar coated though and maybe strayed away from the full story a little, but all in all I enjoyed it…

The next film was Slumdog millionaire which I thought was amazing, really liked the way the story was told, being a fan of Skins it was good to see Anwar on the big screen!

Finally got the wedding save the dates out, you wouldnt beleive how much works involved with getting hold of everyones address!!

2

I’ve been doing an online Bouquet store for one of my clients recently so I thought I’d place an order for my ladys Valentines present, they looked amazing and it’s the same people who are doing our wedding flowers, I can’t spek highly enough of Kerry at Tineke, she does some amazing work, ill post the online shop up here as soon as we launch…

Speaking of weddings the suits are sorted and the guys have done an amazing job sorting the stag week in Ibiza- you can’t get much better than that, they really have done a cracking job for which i’m very thankfull for.

I got myself a new toy as well this week so it’s out with the old Samsung phone (possibly the worst mobile i’ve had!!) for a new Blackberry bold which so far is amazing from what i’ve seen. I’ve not really got alot more to report at present but now ive got the Blackberry hooked up hopefully I can get some more blog posts sorted..

blogging live!

Evening, I’m blogging tonight from the warmth of my kitchen whilst watching the Brazil & Italy match, Robinho came up with his usual magic, if only Stag’s could afford him…

I’m sure everyones bored of the snow by now, I love the stuff! I’ve been hearing news reports of people moaning all week how they can’t get to work etc, I’d be over the moon if I’d got a day off to go and play on the park!! I had to settle to a few lunch time outings with the dogs who love it as much as me. I had to cancel a trip to Scotland and Durham because of it and a lack of dog sitter but hopefully we’ll get up there in the next month or so.

accounts

My accounts had needed doing so I took Thursday afternoon to get them in line, very boring and Ive still got a month or so to do to catch up, I don’t really get much time to do them with all the design work, but business is business and all that shirt and tie wearing jazz

camera

Ive started to get to grips with my camera, theres so many functions and settings to get used to it’s going to take a while but hopefully I’ll get there one day, you might even get a nice picture or two on here at some stage….

eggs

It’s still a while off but me and Hayley couldn’t resist when doing the “big shop”!!

bookage

These bad boys arrived on Monday morning, I was made aware of them by a guy who I was doing some work for previously who was looking in to setting up a cafe/bar, the Rockport books just contain loads of nice logos, print design work and promotional items which will be good for inspiration and to show clients, they’ve come in handy once already. Heres the three I picked up:

1,000 Type Treatments

Letterhead and Logo design 9

1,000 Restaurant, Bar, and Cafe Graphics

I’d recommend these to any graphic designer, they’re great to show clients to get an idea of what they want.

savedate

That wasn’t the only delivery this week, I got our wedding “save the dates” today, thanks to the guys at Ripe Digital who printed them up they look amazing.

Thats all for now…..
